Cookie Policy for Scrambled Egg Blog

August 18, 2025 | Last Update

There are two cookies on our site. They are both necessary for the site to function. We do not use the cookies for any other purpose other than to provide web site functionality. Further, we do not sell or use cookies or any user information for advertising, targeting, tracking and other undesirable uses.

Cookie 1 - cookieConsent

This cookie records your acceptance of cookies. If you decline this cookie is not set and you will continue to see the banner as there is no way to remember that you have declined cookies without storing it - which is what cookies are for (yes, we need to use a cookie to record you don't want a cookie - ironic)

Cookie 2 - aws-waf-token

To protect our email form from bots, we require completion of a captcha puzzle. Completion creates an encrypted token that allows our infrastructure provider (AWS) to know whether to allow the form submission. We use this to protect against bots blasting us with form email submissions.

AWS data handling

The CAPTCHA completion token and related cookie are governed by our AWS agreement, which keeps data about our users between us and them. We are relying specifically on their key privacy principles. Specifically, AWS states: "We do not access or use your customer content for any purpose without your agreement. We do not use customer content or derive information from it for marketing or advertising."

Scrambled Egg LLC has not consented to any use of this cookie beyond protecting our submission forms from bots.
